Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 14, 2026
This policy explains what data Approv collects, why, and the choices you have. We practice data minimization — we store what an approval needs and nothing more.
Data we collect
Account data: your email and workspace details.
Approver data: the name and phone number you add for approvers.
Approval data: the action text, optional amount, any context you attach, and the decision (outcome, channel, time).
Operational data: logs needed to run and secure the Service.
How we use it
To deliver approval messages, record decisions in the audit trail, provide the dashboard, secure the Service, and communicate with you about your account. We do not sell your data or use approval content to train models.
Sharing
We use trusted infrastructure providers to operate the Service — a messaging provider to deliver WhatsApp and SMS, and a cloud database and hosting provider. They process data on our behalf under contract. We disclose data if required by law.
Retention
Audit records are retained for the life of your account so the trail stays complete and verifiable. You can request export or deletion of your data, subject to legal and integrity limits.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Signing keys are isolated from application data, and API keys are stored only as hashes. See our security page for details.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise them, email privacy@approv.dev.
Consent for messaging
You are responsible for ensuring the people you add as approvers have agreed to receive WhatsApp and SMS messages from you through Approv.
